M.A.Y.B.E. TOURNAMENT RULES & PROCEDURES FOR

AUGUST, SEPT. & OCT. 2007

There will be 2 divisions, 1 handicap and 1 scratch. Each bowler must select the division in which they desire to bowl. Handicap will be 90% of 200. Bowlers will use M.A.Y.B.E. tournament 2006-2007 average based on 5 games. Bowlers without a tournament average will use highest 2006-2007 league average with a minimum of 12 games. IT WILL BE EACH BOWLER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE VERIFICATION OF AVERAGE. Any bowler unable to provide average verification electing to compete in the handicap division will use a 200 for handicap purposes. Bowlers who are electing to bowl scratch do not need average verification. Failure to use correct average will disqualify score if submitted average is lower. Prize winnings shall be based on the submitted average if it is higher than correct average. Corrections in averages may be permitted up to the completion of the 1st game. Scholarships will be presented to 15 bowlers in each division and will be awarded by the Parents Coaches Association in accordance with their scholarship policy.

There will be two levels of bowling. All bowlers will bowl 6 games across 12 lanes. The top 15 bowlers from each division will advance to single elimination match play using a random selection for each match. The leader of each division will receive a bye for the first round of match play. There will be four rounds of match play with the bowlers who win their match advancing to the next level. In event of a tie during match play, there will be a 9th and 10th frame roll off. The overall winner for each division will be the bowler who wins the final match play round. The winner of each division will also receive an entry for the KISS tournament.

Late bowlers will receive a zero for all frames missed. A frame will be considered missed when a bowler is not at his/her assigned lane ready to bowl.

All bowlers must check in at least 30 minutes prior to squad time. Entries close 15 minutes prior to the start of the squad or when lane availability has been maximized.

You must send entry fee and average verification (if electing to bowl in the handicap division) with your entry form. Returned checks will disqualify the bowler from awards and result in a $25 service fee.

The Directors reserve the right to correct any mistakes in averages, handicap or scores. All protests must be made within 72 hours, in writing, to the MAYBE Directors. Protests will be settled by the MAYBE Directors.

Bowlers may not bowl in offensive clothing. Hats will not be permitted during this event. Cell phones and electronic games will not be permitted during the tournament. Tee shirts and jeans will be allowed as long as they don’t have offensive language and there are no holes in the jeans.
